I’m free of any work (in which I get paid for) until Wednesday 2nd January. Yippee!
I took great satisfaction in setting my out of office on Wednesday and leaving a smug message on my voicemail informing any unfortunate callers that I wasn’t interested in their call until next year.
The best thing about Christmas is the time off. I work in a big office that closes for the festive period. Yes we have to take a few days mandatory leave but it’s worth it to have the time at home. The worst thing about Christmas is the OH having to work for most of it (he’s a publican). It sucks not having him around but he’s promised to be off next Christmas when Dex is really into everything.
This Christmas I’m looking forward to seeing my baby boy everyday. I’ve missed him so much lately, and now I’m working 5 days a week I feel like I miss out on so many things. The OH doesn’t think to tell me about new things he starts doing, I’m not sure it’s in their nature to pass on this relevant information. They most probably think its a waste of time.
Example: this week we’re all sat in bed and my son starts dancing like Stevie Wonder to an advert on the TV. This brought tears of joy and laughter to my eyes, until the OH told me he’d been doing it for a while. Bum.
So Dexter this Christmas you get your full time Mum back, whether you like it or not.
