Wowee. There’s nothing like buying a house with someone and falling head over heels in love with them all over again!
The OH and I have had a few testing months. Nothing too worrying, just the stresses and strains of everyday life. We’ve both been working long hours and our commitments meant we were like ships passing in the night. There has also been general tension caused by illness and we’ve also had Christmas and New Year, which cheerily is the most popular time to decide to go ahead with that divorce. I think the biggest stress has of course been the house move. We were uncertain things would work in our favour. Things don’t always go brilliantly well for us and I think we were 95% certain we’d fall at the last hurdle. Rather than be disappointed when it did we just didn’t talk about it. Our mortgage application was submitted and then was not discussed. Ignorance is bliss in the K-D household.
However, it did all go in our favour and now we’re almost in it’s all we are talking about. The atmosphere at home is amazing. We’re both so happy and content and working (for once) on the same project with the same amount of energy, love and commitment. Our first family home is really starting to take shape and the OH and I are working our arses off this week to make it as homely and ready as possible before hurricane Dexter breaks everything.
But the best thing about this entire move is how we are with one another again. Silly gazes, the odd unexpected kiss and cuddles. Lots and lots of cuddles.
I’m writing this with a huge grin on my face as the K-D’s are in such a happy, perfect place. Long may it continue.
