A New Obsession

Things are moving along with the new house. We were hoping to get in before Christmas but seeing as that’s so close we’ve decided to wait until the New Year. If I learnt any parenting lessons lately it’s  from the ASDA advert I should know that Christmas is a time for Mum’s to be overworked and stressed so maybe moving into a new house in December is a bit ambitious.

I’ve been obsessing a bit about decorating. Not our room; nor the kitchen or the lounge, but Dexter’s bedroom and planned playroom. I can’t wait to get stuck in and make it special for him. We’ve never had it tough and have always been lucky enough to live somewhere nice (well it’s not like we don’t work hard for our money) but our nice home has always been someone else’s house. This is finally our time to put our own little stamp on our place.

I have spent hours on the iPad of an evening pouring over interior design ideas on Houzz, Pinterest and Etsy. This isn’t me. I’m a biege girl with the occasional added brown, but now I’m looking at bold primary colours and loud prints. I’ve been trawling through eBay and have already grabbed myself a few bargains (all sat in the garage patiently awaiting moving day.)

The OH has remained his usual calm self. He keeps reminding me not to get too carried away just in case something doesn’t quite go to plan. He’s right, he’s sensible. I’m not.
